Teams want to use powerful AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to work with their documents. But sending contracts, financial reports, and client data to third-party APIs means sensitive information leaves your control. Hexagone AI acts as a privacy layer between your data and any AI provider.

How It Works

Two Modes of Operation

Integrated Chat Interface

Chat directly with your documents inside Hexagone AI. Select your preferred model (GPT-4o, Claude, etc.), ask questions, and receive answers that use masked tokens. Click a button to reveal real data, with the mapping applied client-side only.

Export and Re-Import Workflow

Export an anonymized version of your document, use it freely in any external AI tool (ChatGPT, Claude, custom pipelines), then re-import the AI-modified file. Hexagone AI automatically restores all original data using the stored mapping.

The AI model (in this case running on a third-party API) only ever sees tokens like COMPANY_1 and PERSON_1. The mapping between tokens and real values is stored locally and applied client-side after the response is received. No real data ever reaches the AI provider.

Works with Any AI Provider

Because the anonymization happens before the data reaches the AI, this workflow is provider-agnostic. You can use OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, open-source models, or any future provider. If the AI provider changes its terms of service or data handling policies, your sensitive data was never exposed to begin with.

Export and Re-Import: Modifying Documents with AI

This mode goes beyond chat. You can use external AI services to modify, restructure, or translate entire documents:

Upload your original document (PPTX, DOCX, PDF, etc.) to Hexagone AI.
Anonymize: Hexagone replaces all sensitive data with tokens (COMPANY_1, PERSON_1, AMOUNT_1).
Export the anonymized file and use it in any external AI tool. Ask ChatGPT to restructure the presentation, have Claude rewrite the executive summary, or run it through your own pipeline.
Re-import the AI-modified file back into Hexagone AI.
Automatic de-anonymization: Hexagone restores all original data using the inverse mapping. Result: an AI-improved document with all real data intact.
